A designation is a saved portion of a recording, such as one case or one hearing, that you can reopen from your Asgard dashboard, share, and work with. Asgard also calls a designation a saved case.

Creating a designation yourself
For: Judge / Magistrate, Court Clerk, Other court staff · When you need a specific portion of a recording saved
Search for and view the recording that includes the hearing you need to review.
Select the green "Create Designation" button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Find the hearing you need and set the start and end time of that hearing. Find and play the start of the hearing, you can now double click the Start Range Selector to mark the exact beginning of your hearing. Find the end of your hearing and double click the End Range Selector to mark the exact end of your hearing.
Click the Bookmark icon under the Player to select your range. You will see a small orange bracket appear under your selected range.
Click the "Save Designation" and name the Designation as you wish. Your Designation is now saved on your dashboard under the "Designations" tab.
Changing where a designation starts or ends

On upgraded Asgard sites, you adjust a designation's start and end from the VoiceCopy tab:
Open the designation from the Designations tab on your dashboard and select the VoiceCopy tab.
Select the pencil icon in the VoiceCopy toolbar. The full day's recording appears, with the designation's portion highlighted.
Right-click a line of the transcript and choose Set as start, Set as end, or Remove bookmark. Press Ctrl and Z together to undo a change.
Select Save at the right of the toolbar, or Cancel to discard your changes.
A designation must keep at least one segment, so you cannot save after removing them all. If you switch tabs or leave with unsaved changes, Asgard warns you first.
Once VoiceCopy+ has been run on a designation, its start and end are locked. The VoiceCopy+ transcript is built from exactly what was inside the designation at the time, so new boundaries would no longer match it. To work with a different range, create a new designation. Troubleshooting designations
I can't find the Edit button on my designation. On upgraded Asgard sites, the Edit button has been replaced by the pencil icon in the VoiceCopy tab toolbar.
The pencil icon is missing. VoiceCopy+ has been run on that designation, so its start and end are locked. Create a new designation to cover a different range.
Case information is missing on my designation. Participants and case information appear only on cases saved with Case Called. A designation you create yourself shows notes only.
