View Audio Requests
Once logged in, you'll see a list of active requests on your dashboard.
Look for the SPEAKER icon π in the last column this icon indicates the Request is an Audio Request.\
The request list shows: Request #, Case Name, Date Requested, and Status
To open a request:
Click on either the Request # or Case Name
Claim Request
Before you can process an audio request, you must claim it:
Open the request by clicking on it
Navigate to the Share tab
Click the CLAIM button next to your name
The request is now assigned to you
Note: To unclaim a request, return to the Share tab and select "Unclaim"
Export Audio from Liberty DCR
Marshall County uses Liberty DCR format for recordings. For audio requests:
Export Steps:
Locate the recording in your Liberty system
Select "Export" option
Export these files to an easily accessible location so they can be uploaded into the TRX Request
Upload Audio Files
Single File Upload:
Navigate to the Content tab (NOT the Downloads tab)
Click "Upload Files"
Select your audio file
Click "Upload"
Multiple File Upload:
The system allows uploading multiple files at once:
Click "Upload Files"
Select multiple files using Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click
All files will be queued and uploaded by the system
The system will confirm the total number of files successfully uploaded
File Naming Best Practice:
Keep files in their native format - The Liberty DCR recorder automatically names files with appropriate date/time information. Do not rename files as this preserves the recording system's organization and timestamps.
Upload Strategy:
Upload entire day's recordings rather than segments
No need to change filenames
Bookmarking and Publishing Segments in TRX Studio
When a customer requests only specific portions of a larger recording, you can bookmark and publish those segments for easier access. This is a two-step process: first create the bookmark, then publish it to make it available in the Player tab. This is especially helpful when you have multiple hours of recording but only need to provide a specific hearing or testimony.
Why Use Bookmarking?
Saves time when dealing with full-day recordings
Helps customers find exactly what they need
Allows you to mark specific hearings within larger recording files
Published bookmarks appear in the Player tab for easy customer access
Example: 8 hours of recording with only a 10-minute hearing needed
Accessing TRX Studio
After uploading your audio file to the Content tab
Click on the hearing date to open it in TRX Studio
The Studio player will load with your recording
Understanding the Studio Layout
The TRX Studio displays four key time indicators:
Hearing START Time: The beginning of your bookmarked segment
Hearing END Time: The end of your bookmarked segment
Current Playback Time: Where you are in the recording (changes as you play/rewind)
Duration: Total length of the entire uploaded file
Creating and Publishing a Bookmark
Step 1: Set Start Time
Use the player controls to navigate to where the relevant hearing begins
Triple-click the "Recording START Time" field
The START time automatically updates to match your Current Playback Time
Example: If you're at 8:30:00 AM in the recording, triple-clicking START sets it to 8:30:00 AM
Step 2: Set End Time
Play forward to find where the relevant hearing ends
Triple-click the "Recording END Time" field
The END time automatically updates to match your Current Playback Time
The system highlights the total length of your selected segment
Step 3: Save the Bookmark
Click the Bookmark icon π
A green header confirms "Bookmark has been added"
The bookmark appears as a black range line in the Studio timeline
Add a description if prompted (e.g., "Smith testimony" or "Motion hearing")
Step 4: Publish the Bookmark
After creating the bookmark, locate the 3 line menu (β‘) in the TRX Studio interface
From the dropdown list, select "Publish"
This adds the bookmarked/published content to the Player tab within the request
Customers can now easily access the specific segments you've marked from the Player tab
Always verify the bookmark appears in the Player tab before notifying the customer
Managing Multiple Bookmarks
You can create multiple bookmarks for different segments:
Each bookmark appears as a separate range in the timeline
Bookmarks cannot overlap - the system prevents this automatically
If you need to adjust a bookmark, delete it first then recreate
Remember to publish each bookmark using the 3 line menu β Publish option
Published bookmarks appear in the Player tab for customer access
Removing Bookmarks
To delete an existing bookmark:
Navigate to the Studio tab
Find the bookmark you want to remove in the Publications section
Click the trash icon ποΈ next to that bookmark
Processing and Delivering Voicecopy
Voicecopy provides customers with a searchable text version of the audio from the recording. This feature uses voice recognition technology to create a linked text document that customers can search and reference alongside the audio / video.
β
Note: If a customer needs a certified transcript, they should submit a separate transcript request.
β
Processing Voicecopy:
Prerequisites: Audio / Video file must be uploaded to the Content tab first.
In TRX Studio with the hearing date loaded, click the 3 line menu (β‘)
Select "Process Voicecopy" from the dropdown
In the popup window, click "Start Voicecopy v2"
No need to change channel selection
Voicecopy will process across all channels automatically
Processing time varies based on recording length:
Short hearings: 2-5 minutes
Standard hearings: 5-15 minutes
Multi-hour recordings: 15+ minutes
Once processing completes, refresh the page
Voicecopy text will now be displayed in the Studio
Delivering Voicecopy to Customer:
After TRX VoiceCopy processing is complete
Click the 3 line menu (β‘) again
Select "Deliver Voicecopy"
This makes the VoiceCopy available in the Player tab of the customer's request
Customers can now search the text while listening to / watching the audio / video
Important Notes about Voicecopy:
Voicecopy is generated using automated voice recognition
Accuracy varies based on audio quality and speaker clarity
Technical terms, names, or uncommon words may be misinterpreted
This is NOT a certified transcript - it's a searchable reference tool
Always clarify with customers that VoiceCopy is for reference only
TRX Studio Workflow Tip:
You can process VoiceCopy and create bookmarks in the same Studio session:
Process VoiceCopy first (it takes time to complete)
While waiting, create your bookmarks
Once VoiceCopy completes, refresh the page
Publish bookmarks
Deliver VoiceCopy
Both features will be available in the customer's Player tab
Communicating Voicecopy to Customers:
When VoiceCopy is delivered, notify the customer via Messages:
Best Practices for Marshall County
When to Use Bookmarks:
Customer specifically requests "just the motion hearing" or similar
Multiple cases heard in one recording session
Long jury trials where specific testimony is needed
Bookmark Workflow:
Create bookmark with triple-click method
Must publish using 3 line menu β Publish
Verify bookmark appears in Player tab before notifying customer
Include Player tab reference in customer message
Naming Your Bookmarks:
Be specific: "State v. Smith - Opening Arguments"
Include times if helpful: "9:15 AM - Witness Jones Testimony"
Use case numbers when multiple cases: "CR-2024-001234 - Plea Hearing"
Note: This is for bookmark labels within the system, not the audio filenames which should remain in Liberty DCR's native format.
Communicating with Customers
After creating and publishing bookmarks, notify the customer via Messages:
Your audio request has been completed and uploaded. I've created bookmarks for the specific portions you requested: - Motion Hearing: 9:30 AM - 9:45 AM - Witness Testimony: 10:15 AM - 10:55 AM - Judge's Ruling: 11:30 AM - 11:35 AM These bookmarked segments are available in the Player tab.
