This guide provides detailed instructions for using TRX ASGARD™, a system that allows court personnel to access, search, and manage recorded court proceedings through an intuitive web interface. The following sections will walk you through the system's features and functionality.
Getting Started: Basic Navigation
After logging in to TRX ASGARD, you'll see two main tabs at the top of your screen:
Designations Tab: This is where you can access portions of recordings you've saved
Search Tab: This is where you'll find recordings by date, name, or other criteria
These tabs serve as your primary navigation within TRX ASGARD. Simply click on either tab to access its functions.
Search Functionality
The search interface allows you to find recordings through multiple methods:
Date-Based Search
By default, the date range is set to the last 7 days
Entering no text in the search box will result in all hearings from the selected dates being displayed in the search results
Date range can be adjusted using the calendar selector
Only one date is displayed at a time in the search results. Switch between dates by clicking the box next to the appropriate date, those hearings will then be displayed
Results are organized by location/courtroom
Name-Based Search
Enter names of parties, attorneys, judges, or other participants in the search field
Click the Search button to display results
Names are generally recognized well by VoiceCopy©
Example searches: "Smith" or "John Davis"
When searching via the text search box, the system reviews both TRX VoiceCopy© and Log notes (if available) to provide results
Case Information Search
Enter case information in the search field
Click the Search button to display results
Case numbers may not always be stated verbally during proceedings
Names of parties and attorneys are typically more reliable search terms
When available, partial case numbers or case types can be helpful
Case descriptions may also yield results
When searching via the text search box, the system reviews both TRX VoiceCopy© and Log notes (if available) to provide results
Navigating Search Results
Results display the location, date, and time of recordings
Results are grouped by date, with one date displayed at a time
Click on a different date in the results to view recordings from that day
To view a recording, click on the View button next to the desired result
Working With Recordings
Isolating Specific Portions of Hearings
Once you've located a hearing recording, you may need to isolate specific sections rather than work with the entire recording:
Open the recording by clicking on it in the search results
Use the timeline and player controls to navigate to the relevant portion
The timestamps in the VoiceCopy© text can help you locate specific moments
When you find the relevant section, you can:
Create a designation to save this portion (see Creating Designations below)
Use the player controls to replay just this section
Make private notes linked to specific timestamps
Playback Controls
Play/Pause: Standard controls in player
Speed: Adjust playback speed as needed
Volume: Adjust volume for each channel
Channels: Disable/isolate individual channels
Navigation: Click on timeline to jump to specific points
Foot pedal: Connect transcription footpedal if needed
Player Subtabs
When you open a recording, you'll notice three subtabs below the player:
VoiceCopy©: Displays a searchable linked text document created from the recording using voice recognition
Plain Text Option: Use the "Enable Text Selection Mode" checkbox inside the VoiceCopy© window to switch to plain text format, making it easier to copy and paste the text into other documents (useful for transcript production)
Log Notes: Shows any log entries, though in most cases these are only auto-generated entries as manual log notes are not typically created
Private Notes: Allows you to create your own time-stamped notes linked to specific points in the recording. These private notes can be shared with other authorized users when you share a designation
Private notes are particularly useful for marking important testimony or procedural moments in a recording for your own reference or to highlight sections for colleagues.
TRAssist - AI-Powered Analysis
TRAssist is ASGARD's AI-powered tool that instantly analyzes court hearing transcripts, generating comprehensive summaries and enabling natural language Q&A searches. Users can extract key information about parties, rulings, and evidence in seconds rather than hours, making it invaluable for hearing preparation, case summaries, and locating specific testimony within ASGARD's secure environment.
Accessing TRAssist
You can access TRAssist from within designations via the purple TRAssist button. This feature allows you to:
Generate instant summaries of designated portions
Ask natural language questions about the content
Extract key information about parties, rulings, and evidence
Quickly locate specific testimony or procedural moments
Prepare case summaries efficiently
Using TRAssist Effectively
Create a designation for the portion you want to analyze
Click the purple TRAssist button within the designation
Review the AI-generated summary
Use the Q&A feature to ask specific questions about the content
TRAssist works best with clear, well-defined designations that focus on specific topics or testimony sections.
Creating and Managing Designations
What are Designations?
Designations allow you to save specific portions of recordings for easy reference later. This is useful for:
Identifying important testimony
Marking relevant sections of lengthy hearings
Creating shareable excerpts for judges or colleagues

Open the recording of interest
Click "Create Designation"
Use the player controls to identify the portion you want to save
Set the start and end times for your selection
Click the bookmark icon to confirm your selection
Click Save
Name your designation in a way that's meaningful to you
Working with Saved Designations
From the Designations tab, you can:
Access all your saved designations
Add private notes for your reference
Share designations with other authorized staff (internal only)
Download RTF (VoiceCopy© text) for the designated portion
Use TRAssist to analyze designated portions via the purple TRAssist button
